Product Description

McMinn's Color Atlas of Human Anatomy is one of the most successful atlases of human anatomy ever published - well over one million copies have been sold worldwide in more than 20 different languages. Incorporating an unrivalled collection of cadaveric, osteological and clinical images, McMinn's atlas maps out the structures of the human body and puts these structures into a clinical context.

The fifth edition has been carefully revised to improve the photographic content and thereby make this outstanding resource even more useful. Fifty new dissection photographs of stunning clarity have been added to the book. Positive user feedback has prompted us to add more Clinical Tips - there are now 300 examples of these in the book to highlight the clinical correlates of the anatomic structures. The layout of every single page has been revised - and each chapter is colour-coded - to ensure maximum accessibility. More orientational diagrams and helpful line artworks have been added, extra surface anatomy and imaging have been included. The font size has been increased to ensure optimal readability.

McMinn's Color Atlas of Human Anatomy remains an outstanding guide to the human body, ideal for exam preparation, self-study and as a primer for laboratory work.

    About the Author
Peter H. ABRAHAMS , MB BS, FRCS (Ed), FRCR

We have few authors as dynamic and entrepreneurial as Peter Abrahams. He combines a part-time Family Practitioner job, in a busy North London GP practice, with academic positions at Girton College and Kigezi School in Cambridge, in addition to numerous publishing activities (ranging from Editorial Board of Clinical Anatomy to Consultant on Inside the Human Body). He has been involved in the publication of numerous Mosby anatomy titles, in print and non-print formats, and took over the McMinn atlas in its last, fourth edition. He is an efficient, business-like author with a great delivery record.

    As good as a dissection5
This is a medical student's dream. Perfect when you need to do some learning or revision, but can't get near the dissection room or a skeleton to check things out for yourself. Fabulous dissections perfectly photographed make for a great atlas.

    Great book!5
I think this is possibly the best anatomy book I've seen. It has pictures of real cadavers and bones which is so much more useful than looking at a cartoon drawing where all the arteries are red, veins are blue etc. As a medical student myself, I would recommend this to anyone who's learning anatomy or to anyone fascinated with the human body-an investment for the future indeed!

    Excellent Atlas!5
Unlike many it has actual pictures of dissections - when you are looking at the cadaver its never the same trying to find a structure from a diagram / sketch. Nicely presented and organised well into different areas. Great clinical applications as well which a lot of courses nowadays focus on. Dont be put off by the price and buy one ... its an investment - will be useful throughout the clinical course as well.
