Good start - but you'll need more
I have just passed this exam and this kit was the foundation for my learning. I started off reading the book, and working through the exercises. The book's style is quite technical - and if you are not familiar with SQL databases, syntax or concepts then there are appendices which provide a foundation. However, I would recommend that this is only really for those who have worked with SQL Server, or another database, before. Some of the explanations are not very clear, and require a re-read, but most subject areas are covered - although not always in the depth required.

You will need something like the Transcender products if you want to revise for the MCP exam - but as a foundation course it's not a bad book.
