Another great Microsoft Training Kit
This book is another great self placed training book that takes you though the Microsoft Official Study material, preparing you for the 70-228 exam, or just a good understanding of Microsoft SQL environments. This book may be a bit hard to understand without a SQL Server at hand to do the LABS on, the book provides a evaluation copy of SQL2000 and the Study Material on CD. Overall an ideal book for SQL2000 Administration Training.
Not Enough !
This is a fairly well written microsoft book that will get you up to speed on SQL. However, if you are new to SQL and the main reason for purchasing this is to prepare for 70-228 then its level of detail will fall short of what is required. Specifically it lacks sufficient troubleshooting detail for a number of long-winded scenario questions that appear in 70-228(including T-SQL). Best to back it up with some additional material from another publisher and the online SQL books that install with the product.
MCSE Training Kit: Microsoft SQL Server 2000
I enjoyed this book, it was easy to read and understand from a beginners point of view. The T-SQL statements are not covered in any detail worth talking about, however the labs are good but you would need something a bit more substantial to be of use in day to day work.
