Mac OS X Killer Tips is not another newbie book. OS X Killer Tips speaks directly to the daily Mac user who needs to get the most out of their Mac NOW. "Nothin' but sidebars!" Time is money. And a lot of experienced users find themselves trying to save time by skimming through larger computer books in order to pull out the useful nuggets of info that are often placed within what we call sidebars (i.e. those Note/Tip/Warning boxes). The Killer Tips series was developed by Scott Kelby because he recognized how useful non-beginning technology users find those cool "I didn't know THAT" sidebars that are peppered all over the other computer books out there. This book is all about speed; showing the Mac professional how to get more work done faster, while actually increasing quality. The whole concept is to help make the reader faster and more productive than ever using their Mac. In an ever-tightening and competitive marketplace, this kind of book is sorely needed.

A lot of screen prints with no real killer tips
I expected too much of this book. Killer tips or tips anyway should contain information, which is no available to plain mortals. This book had non, instead it had pages and pages of screen shot of items described literally on excellent Mac OS X Help-file. There was even mistakes compared to help.

Mac the Ripper is Scott Kelby!
This is a straight to the point no nonsense tip giver for the Jaguar 10.2 and as a user of a Mac for over ten years and swapping to a new system (os x) i have admittedly become a lazy so and so when it comes to reading up and searching for ways to change my mac set-up, basically i don't want to play no more! i want step by step good tips and this has em all, from the down right obvious, to the totally obscure and so many more between, it's one of those books that has the domino effect and i haven't played dominos for years! (he's even got me writting like him). A must for starters in OSX and for lazy old Niner's like me. The only down side for me was the hints of American lingo, it reads so....kinda... coooorney!... do you dig (sorry Scott but stick to Mags don't do stand up), but i read past it after a while and it's not too over powering, and also i'm just a whingeing pom.
