Product Description

This work provides a better basic understanding of biochemistry. This work is aimed at students and professionals in the sports science field. The book is particularly useful for undergraduate and graduate students in exercise physiology and sports nutrition who lack a basic understanding of exercise biochemistry. Exercise biochemistry books can be very complex and hundreds of pages long, however this book emphasises the most important material, giving the reader a concise yet thorough presentation of the information. The author has 35 years experience of working in the field of exercise biochemistry.

Customer Reviews

An excellent, well written and presented book.5
Its not often I get turned on by books but this one has the brain cells tingling. It takes a good in-depth look at the world of sports chemistry by looking at the energy systems of the body and how they work.

An absolute must for anybody studying sports science wishing to learn more about sports physiology/sports nutrition and sports biochemistry. And for those wishing to impress their lecturers. This information is good, clear, precise and well presented. There are good informative diagrams to help make things more clear.

Only down side is, I wish I'd seen it sooner!

Excellent, clear text!5
As a mature student returning to education (BSc Sport Science)after a 12 year break (!) I have found this book well laid out & extremely useful. It explains the 'basics' in easy-to-understand language with useful diagrams. My best buy so far!
