Poetic, inspirational, spiritual, magical
This is a perfect guide to forging a spiritual connection with the Goddess through silence, simplicity and prayer. It is for the old and the young, those new or experienced on the Path, solitary witches and wiccan covens - anyone who is seeking to connect with the Goddess in their life.
The prayers contained in this book are beautiful, simple and clear, and can be used in ritual or meditation. Each one is a wonderful, easy way to invite the Goddess and the spirit realms into your daily life. There are morning prayers for every day of the week and suggestions for meditations, each a guide to embracing new beginnings and opportunities. There are evening prayers and meditations of thanks and reflection and growth. There are night prayers and meditations of stillness, darkness and looking inward, all interlaced with affirmations and dream images.
These prayers are followed by seasonal prayers and meditations relating to the Wheel of the Year, for each of the eight sabbats. These can be incorporated into your celebrations, and are poetic and inspirational.
The section on Moon worship contains prayers for the New and Full Moons, which reflect the magic and mystery She represents. The section on the rhythm of our lives covers prayers for joyful and sorrowful times - prayers for healing, blessing, releasing anger, loss, handfastings, etc.
There is also an appendix containing details of some of the Goddesses mentioned in the prayers, and suggestions for communing with them.
This is a small treasure of a book, beautifully presented, full of magic, inspiration and love - the author's love for the Goddess makes each prayer a potent experience. It is a shame the book is not longer.
If you are put off by the idea of a prayer book, this is unlike any other. This is a gem for any witch, wiccan or pagan - or indeed anyone who wishes to reconnect with the feminine. Try it.
A wonderful introduction the Old Way!!
A wonderful collection of prayers to the Goddess for all times of the year.
I would heartily recommend this book to anyone who is just starting out on the Old Way.
Blessed Be!
