This is a fresh approach to incorporating Wiccan religion into day-to-day practice. The Circle Within guides the practising Witch toward integrating Wiccan values into his or her real life. The first part of the book addresses the philosophy, practice, and foundations of a spiritual life. Best money I've ever parted with5
I cant believe there aren't loads of rave reviews for this book! This book adresses what a lot of other authors just skim over - how to live every day spiritually. I learnt an lot from this book, and everytime I pick it up it teaches and reminds me of somthing new. The author's writing style is brilliant - not too serious, funny and down to earth, and she explains things brilliantly. There really is something worthwile written on every page. This is a book that enlighted me and made me smile the whole way through.

More than worthy of 5+ stars5
The other reviews here have nailed this book... There are so few good books for those who are ready to go beyond the basics in this genre, and this one more than holds its own alongside the likes of "Witchcrafting" by Phyllis Currott, "Wiccan Warrior" by Kerr Cuhulain and "The Second Circle" by Venecia Rauls. This book is a must-read for those who are tired of picking up every book and reading the same thing. Sylvan "walks her talk" and the book is obviously based on her spiritual life in the everyday world. Each chapter is a gem - no words are wasted here - and at the end of each one, Sylvan gives you some focus points to meditate upon.

If I could recommend any of the books for advancing Witch, this would be number one. It deserves far more recognition and praise than it often receives.

An invaluable book!5
I bought this after hearing very good things about it, although one can never quite gauge how a book will turn out purely based on other peoples opinions -- I often like books many people profess to hating! Luckily, after having read The Circle Within (which I found hard to put down) I too shared this high opinion which is what compelled me to write a review in recommendation of it. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this book, which is why you should buy it right now! ;) I'm not actually Wiccan, but my practice incorporates certain elements of said into it and regardless of spiritual path I'm sure every religious Pagan could find use in this book. It's definately a minor classic in the making and a book that everyone on this path should read at one point or another. It's an honest and inspirational look at Wicca as a legitimate religious path, something many how-to books forget to do.

The Circle Within is written with a strong sense of humour underlying a serious religious practice, it's not fluffy, and it's most certainly not another Wicca 101 book. What it does do is emphasize focus upon prayer and establishing a connection to the Gods on a daily basis. Dianne Sylvan includes many practical tips for said and the later half of this slim volume is a collection of prayers to better equip the reader to grow closer to deity. Much of what Sylvan suggests is simplistic and is not overly ceremonial or time consuming -- best of all, this book is designed primarily to enrich ones religious practice and relationship with the Gods.
