About the Author
Raphael Patai (1910-1996) authored over thirty books and edited many more on Jewish literature, religion, folktore and anthropology, the Arab world, and the modern Middle East. Several of his works have become classics, and for his significant contributions to scholarship Patai was awarded numerous top awards and prizes.
