Inspiring5
This book is well worth reading. An enjoyable journey through one midwife's career that is entertaining and inspiring. Reaffirmed for me the privilege midwives have in being allowed to help women through the special event of pregnancy and birth. Also funny in places - there is one part involving a 'killer pet cat' that had me crying with laughter!

A wonderful read!5
I was inspired about the special role midwives have after the birth of my daughter, and have been really considering changing my career to become a midwife. This book has encouraged me to do so. Although written by an American midwife, it still serves to give women the world over an idea of what it is to be a midwife. Peggy doesn't consider herself to be a hippy, but some of the situations she finds herself in are very hippyish to today's woman. There is a big focus on home births rather than hospital ones, but the book and Peggy herself are really truly inspiring. If you're interested in the wonderful happening that is birth and motherhood, read this book - it's awe-inspiring!

An excellent read5
This book is amazing. It is beautifully written and truly inspiring. I would highly recommend this book. Each chapter is an account of a birth attended by Peggy Vincent, the book had me laughing in some parts and crying in others. I'm sure I'll read it again and again.
