the best is on the cover
I was really excited when I first heard about this book, but after searching in vain for this book in the shops (I thought knitting was supposed to be having a renaissance), I eventually bought it sight unseen from Amazon. Although the vest shown on the jacket is lovely, the rest of the patterns inside don't really match up. The design and styling of the book is fantastic, so it was a real disappointment to find that the vast majority of the patterns don't offer much of an alternative to what is already on offer. I found myself looking at the thumbnails of the vintage patterns on which these patterns are based and wishing that Sarah hadn't 'modernised' them quite so much.

Love it!
I got this book as a (requested) Christmas present and it lived up to all my expectations! I love it! I have already knitted one top and have the wool all ready for another two, whilst I knit a scarf, also from the book!

In line with the other review, I would have like to have seen bigger pictures of the vintage patterns but think they are all very wearable.

My only criticism would be the restricted sizes in which each pattern is offered - doesn't really apply to me as the small or medium will fit me nicely, but I think others would find the small range limiting.
