Something wicked has been preying on Sunnydale students. Buffy has found human remains that have been picked clean. Help from the rest of the gang would be appreciated but they're all mesmerised by a hot new girl band, so she is on her own.

Amazon.co.uk Review
In her efforts to lead a normal life, Buffy constantly has to juggle the horrors of school and the hellmouth, and this adventure is no exception. She seldom has much free time from her slaying duties to keep up with school work, and as a result her new guidance counsellor has identified three subjects she is in danger of failing. In her final year at high school this could mean not graduating and not going to college. However, the appearance in town of an ancient and powerful vampire, who is apparently able to walk abroad in full sunlight without bursting into flames, is a cause for concern, as is the gnawed human leg-bone Oz finds under a bush in the cemetery. Giles fears a gang of ghouls may be hunting in Sunnydale. Meanwhile, an alluring girl band called Vyxn is mesmerising Xander, Oz and an old flame of Cordelia's called Troy. Is it just their skimpy leather costumes, or do Vyxn's four members have some supernatural hold over their male audience?

This is John Passarella's first Buffy novel, but he has slotted right into the groove: the dialogue is sharp and witty, the fight scenes really come to life, and the dual plot strands gather nicely into a tense finish. This is a quick read, but an entertaining one. --Elizabeth Sourbut

From the Author
My Two Goals for Writing a BUFFY Book
Hi! First of all, thanks for checking out BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER: GHOUL TROUBLE. It’s my first BUFFY novel and was a lot of fun to write. With GHOUL TROUBLE, I had two goals in mind: (1) capture the voices and personalities of the characters; and (2) capture the mood of the show. For me, the show’s mood is equal parts horror and humor, both working effectively. In that sense, I hope I’ve captured the essence of Joss Whedon’s creation.

Since day one, I’ve been a huge fan of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series. When my first, co-authored novel, WITHER — winner of the Bram Stoker Award for Best First Novel of 1999 — was reviewed in the San Francisco Chronicle, they said it "hits the groove that makes TV’s BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER such a kick." That compliment, along with my love of the television show convinced me to take the plunge and write my own Buffy adventure. Over a year has passed since I wrote that early outline, but now GHOUL TROUBLE is finally a reality.

In GHOUL TROUBLE, two evil forces come to town with deadly designs on the Slayer. The first is VYXN, a "hottie new chick band" with a ravenous appetite and the unnatural ability to mesmerize the young male population of Sunnydale. Second, is a solitary duelist with a reputation for being a day-walking vampire. Both believe the way to defeat Buffy is by using her friends and loved ones (i.e., the Scooby Gang and her own mother) against her. The Chosen One is about to show them just how misguided they are.

My best hope is that fans of the BUFFY show and readers of the BUFFY books will have as much fun reading GHOUL TROUBLE as I had writing it... as always, I welcome your comments.

Well worth reading!!!4
Being a big Buffy fan, as soon as I saw this book, I knew that I had to read it. However, I am not completely biased, as I have read some Buffy books that I didn't enjoy. This was not one of those books. Ghoul trouble, had a powerful, easy to follow storyline. It is extremely well written, with the charactors staying true to their counterparts as shown on T.v. It was witty, emotional - and very hard to put down. However, I would advise that this book only be read by teenagers/adults over the age of 12, as it got abit graphic in places.

Great plot, fantastic writing, all round excellent read!5
Ghoul Trouble was much better than i expected, it seemed the author really knew the characters well and how they would react (eg.Xander's witty comments)

With an exciting twist at the end and some very near being frazzled by sunlight moments for angel it turns out to be a very enteraining and fun read.

At the end of the day it is one of the best Buffy Books i have read.

fab!5
i thought this book was great a really good read for any buffy fan!
