"A Slayer's life is simple. Want...Take...Have." A gripping novelisation of three key episodes featuring Faith, the bad Slayer. Sometimes it's gotta be a drag to be the Chosen One. There are times when a girl would rather be at the mall, talking on the phone, or even doing homework than saving the world from unstoppable evil. Fortunately, Buffy Summers has always had a support system of friends, family and a father-figure Watcher to help her cope. But what if she hadn't? She might have been just like Faith. Faith, the 'shadow-self' Slayer, is strong, sexy and willful. When she first arrives in Sunnydale, Watcherless and fancy-free, Buffy has doubts about tag-team patrol. As time goes on, though, she learns to find the fun in synchronised slayage, and appreciates Faith's zest for life...until Faith's impulsive approach to her calling takes her one step too far...and her inability to cope with the consequences eventually pushes her over the edge.

wicked-cool
The Faith Trial.1 is really an entertaining read. The book includes some the most pivotal episodes in season 3 when it comes to Faith. I think the only disappointment is that I don't feel the writer has added enough of his own ideas to the book. Though there are a few extra scenes added randomly throughout the book which are excellent insights to her character. I agree that if you've already seen all the episodes with Faith in it you might not want to buy this book. But why not? It's Faith!
an insight into the workings of Faith's mind
It can be too easy to pre judge Faith and cast her as the girl that chose to follow the easier path of evil. The Faith Trials allows the reader to understand the motivation behind her actions. Faith wants to fit in, all her life she's been an outcast, from her mother, from her peers. She finally puts her trust in her watcher, only to see her slaughtered while she was rendered helpless to act in her defence. Sunnydale is a the start of a new life for Faith, try as she might she cannot help hoping to fit in. However, she has chosen to try and befriend Buffy at one of the most difficult periods in the young slayer's life. Then, a mistake made in the heat of battle causes the wilful slayer to withdraw from the scooby gang and search for acceptance in the darker regions of Sunnydale. This novel not only retells the Faith episodes from tv, but also portrays the thought process of this wilful slayer and this in itself makes it a good read
A fab read
The Faith Trials 1 is a great book which includes the episodes Faith, Hope and Trick, Revelations, Bad Girls and Consiquences. It shows how Faith feels throughout the episodes, as well as Buffy, Willow and the gang. If your a Buffy fan, get this book.
