Synopsis
From 1939 to 1946 the world gathered around the radio to listen to The New Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes - featuring Basil Rathbone as the highly strung crime-solver and Nigel Bruce as his phlegmatic assistant. Witty, fast-paced, and always surprising, these great radio plays - scripted by the prolific writing team of Anthony Boucher and Denis Green - are as fresh today as they were then. The latest audio technology has been employed to bring the best possible quality and fidelity to these original performances, which feature nostalgic war-time announcements, original narrations and radio commercials. Volume Twenty-Four presents two classic tales: The Accidental Murderess A quiet visit to the English countryside finds Holmes wounded by a stray bullet. While he recovers from his wound, he discovers a diabolical scheme of murder that has two people marked for death! The Adventure of the Blarney Stone While visiting Ireland, Holmes and Watson witness a violent death - a man falls from Blarney Castle while kissing the Blarney Stone. Was it an accident, murder or the revenge of the 'little people'? Holmes must put his own life in peril to find out.

Classic radio mystery5
Superb, stunning & entertaining to the last. That's what volume 4 should have been had it not been for the fact that it contained the episodes from volume 3. No, I don't expect you to allow this review but, after all I've been through, it's payback time.

Everyone, don't buy this tape until they've sorted the problems out.

You have been warned !
