A wonderful story about being a younger sibling at home.5
I've logged on to Amazon to buy this book as my youngest daughter has had it from the library so many times that she thinks it's hers. It is a perfect book about being a younger sibling at home with a big sister at school. All of Alice's daily activities are ones that we do and therefore my daughter can relate to them. There is a lot to talk about and plenty of opportunities for discussion throughout the book. I love it that the pictures are so carefully drawn and detailed - children can respond to colours other than primary and pictures other than basic outlines!

Alice is a normal, happy child but is not so perfect that she wakes from her afternoon nap cheerful. I would recommend this book to anyone, we love it

Of the 100's of books my 6 yr old has, this is the heirloom.5
This book is a classic. It captures a life in the day of Alice, who longs to be a big girl like her sister. I bought this book for my 2 year old daughter and she had it memorised within the year. Some days we had to read it 4 or 5 times. Not only were the illustrations, as usual with Penny Dale, warmly realistic, but the minutae of Alice's very important day ( I shall remember forever those 27 crisps she ate for lunch) is something the 2-5 crowd really relate to.
