Product Description

The voice of the night can transform childhood fantasy into terrifying reality. If you listen to the voice, you may never see the dawn again…

Colin Jacobs is a shy, awkward, bookish fourteen-year-old.  His only real companions are those from the science fiction stories he loves.  But his life changes when Roy Borden, the most popular kid in town, becomes his 'blood brother'.

There's only one problem.  Roy has a secret - a secret so terrible that Colin can hardly imagine it.  By the time he comes to face the truth, it's almost too late.  His own life is in danger - and no one will believe him ...

Customer Reviews

Koontz has a knack of keeping you hooked.4
This book deals with two main characters, both 14, one Colin, a bookish nerdy boy, the other Roy, a sporty looked up to boy. The story centres on Roy slowly letting Colin into his 'secret' - ie He likes killing things! The sense of forboding builds from almost the first page and builds to a decent climax. There are shades of Stephen King's Salem's Lot in that Koontz adds an old abandoned building that is central to the plot.

Roy leads Colin into his way of thinking and his mind, and the reader can see how Colin is easily drawn into his web.

This is a good yarn, and a book that can be read in a couple of days and is not heavy going. This is one of Koontz's 'believable' stories, in that there are no supernatural goings on, and is just a straight thriller.

You will like it if you like Koontz3
A book similar to other Koontz books: A secret Goverment project that goes wrong, a woman having nightmares, dreaming that her son is still alive and a ex-secret agent lawyer that fells in love with the woman and tries to help her.

Nevertheless, I recommend it. Easy to read and you will be hooked with it until the end. But not as original as some other Koontz's books.

Childhood Koontz style4
What would you do if you found out your new best friend was a psycho!
This is a story of childhood friendships which zips along at a super fast rate, its quite a short book, but very enjoyable.
One of his early books, if you have not read any of Koontz work before then this is a great place to start.
