Product Description

When two families head off on a camping holiday, it is meant to be a break from city life, in the hills amid the wonders of nature. But in the wilderness lurk two others, an old woman with gruesome powers and her son, whose depraved and unnatural lusts even she cannot control.

Good but not classic Laymon3
This book was not as riveting as some of Laymon's other books, certainly not up to the incredible standard of Funhouse and Island, which are superb.
The book is well written in his usual easy flowing style, but perhaps significantly, not mainly through the thoughts of a male teenager, which Laymon excels at. For me the build up is too much to a rather obvious finale, although with Laymon you can never guess what the conclusive end will be. People who are into spells, curses etc. may find that side of things compulsive. However, not enough twists and horror run through this book for my pallet. For me the content makes this an inferior book of the Master Horror writer, by his very high standards.

Everything you could want from a horror book!5
The minute I opened this book I was addicted. It contained everything I wanted from a horror story. Blood, death, curses. It was about the 5th Laymon book I'd read and by far the best (but with darkness tell us close behind). This is a book I could easily read again without getting bored or distracted regardless from the fact I know the outcome at the end!

Yet another thumping rollercoaster ride from Laymon5
This book was one of many I have read from Laymon but it will always be one of my favourites. Two friends and their respective families go camping in the mountains, miles from anywhere and anyone...in some ways it bears a resemblance to a certain Blair witch project so if you like stories that are full of fear, romance, human emotion and violence you will love this one. This is vintage Laymon, and a must for all horror/thriller readers..
