It's the most frightening horror EVER
This was the first book I ever read of Laymons, and it had me too scared to sleep. What starts as an innocent sleepover, becomes a nightmare that is never ending. Not for the faint hearted, or those with pacemakers. Worth every penny, if not more.
HORROR AT IT'S BEST
If you like Richard Laymon, this book is a must. It's full of suspense, there are characters the reader will find easy to like and care about, and as the same people are dragged through the most horrific situations imaginable all we can do is hope for their survival.
The book starts with a beautiful 16-year old girl - Jody Fargo - who sleeps over at her best friend's house. She suddenly awakes in the middle of the night to strange noises. Worried, she wakes her friend, who groggily decides to check what's going on but as soon as the girl opens her bedroom door, a stranger dressed in what appears to be animal skin drives a wooden pole through her body. Apparently, there is a whole bunch of killers in the house, having some sort of slaughter party. Who are these people? Is it some sort of murderous cult? Jody manages to hide from the killers, but for how long? There might even be other members of her friend's family still alive, hiding somewhere just like her. How is she going to find them, and how the hell is she going to make it out of that house alive?
And this is JUST THE BEGINNING...
The people who've read Laymon before will know what I'm talking about, and those, who are just about to discover this brilliant horror writer, will not be disappointed.
There's one warning though - This book is definitely not for the faint-hearted!
Mr. Laymon u scared me this time
As Laymon biggest fan i can honestly say i will never read this one again, a fantastic book, amazingly written, indepth characters, 5 star rating but It scared the life out of me(which is a good thing!) His books normally never scare me, give me chills and creeps but not make me sleep with the light on. And for all those who have read it will know If a noise wakes u in the night in your own house, becaful how u open your bedroom door, lol.
