YET ANOTHER CLASSIC READ!
Yet another great read from this truely wonderful writer. The thirties depression must have been hard on everyone at the time but like many places a community pulls together in a crisis, just like the people of Bermondsey. Every Harry Bowling book I have read have been hard to put down, I always feel disappointed when I've finished the book because I was so absorbed by the characters and the storyling that I never wanted it to end. I am now sad to hear that this great man, the King Of Cockney Sagas, has died. No one else will be able to do it quite like he did.
Harry we will miss you
This is sadley Harry bowlings last book as he passed away after
it was published.
The story is as always set in the eastend of london with strong woman, and hard men just what you have come to expect, but what is different this time is that the story is about the men folk more than the woman.
well worth a read, its sad that there are no more to come after
this.
great story, you can really feel the emotions.
wartime fiction is a very addictive subject for fiction lovers, but Harry Bowling has a way of bringing all the emotions and tragedies to you in such a way that you really feel it all. dry eyes just are'nt possible with the stories he writes. Is he really a man?
