The best yet!5
Being an enthralled fan of Joan's books, I couldn't wait to read this book, as it was one of the only ones I hadn't read... Be that as it may, this book is definitely the funniest yet! Molly and Nellie are hilarious, warm, honest and very touching.
Any avid reader of the saga of the two families will be hooked, and any new fans will love it as well. Joan writes with so much emotion that this family read will still be being read by me for a long while yet! Read now!!!

This book is another installment of the goings on in molly, nellies and their friends lives. as usual i could hardly put the book down. the story is full of excietment and laughs mostly from molly and nellie. joan has a way of making the characters come alive, and you sometimes forget and become enthralled in the characters lives. excellent book joan ! may there be many more. Now back to the book for a second read!

a totally absorbing ,warm hearted, hilarious story .5
Enjoy a stroll down a Liverpool street in the early 40's,feel the warmth of the residents, laugh at the antics of two very humerous ladies, but also have a hanky ready to collect your tears of laughter. This story continues the lives of Molly Bennett and Nellie McDonough and their growing families, these are two characters I would love to meet, they are very caring but also totally full of fun. Molly has just got over the shock of losing her two daughters to the men of their dreams, to find her son is planning to marry his Irish sweetheart sweet Rosie O'Grady in the summer. The girls have settled very well into married life. Nellies son Paul is courting strong as is her daughter Lily. One day a new family arrive in the street, as soon as the daughter see's Paul she sets her sights on him causing lots of bother along the way.In between doing their daily chores Molly and Nellie manage to do a bit of detective work and find Molly's son in laws long lost family much to his delight. A wonderful read. Thanks Joan!
