Product Description

The third edition of a highly successful research-based text provides further evidence for the effective management of the respiratory patient. Techniques which are not evidence-based are scrutinised and are not recommended unless there is clinical experience to validate their continued use. Case studies have been added to appropriate chapters and question-and-answer sections have been included. There is new material on pulmonary rehabilitation and hyperventilation syndrome. There is also a strong focus on the social and interpersonal aspects of care and treatment. "This is essential reading for physiotherapy students, clinicians, educators and nurse specialists in respiratory and intensive care." TODAYS THERAPIST

A brilliant student text for respiratory physiotherapy5
This book covers all you need as a physio student, from basic respiratory anatomy to assessing a respiratory patient and treatment techniques.
Its text and diagrams cover all the necessary topics in easy to understand ways and the end of chapter summaries and case studies really help to grasp and check understanding.
This book is a definite must for all those beginning on their respiratory careers.

Good... but not great2
This text book has all the basics you need for getting through your university Cardo-Resp modules. The problem is finding what you need as the chapter layout could be better. And like I said, it has the basics but not a lot more. My unversity had this book as the key text on the reading list but when I compared it to other Cardio-Resp books its not that special. You'll probably also find your university library has a few to lend out, although these tend to disapear fast. I have barely looked at it since finishing uni (I'm now a specialist Cardio-resp physio) but do occasionally direct my students to it.

very good4
This book is really good. i am a second year physiotherapy student and just starting cardio respiratory and have found that this book has everything in it that i need and is well laid out and easy to read. if you are doing anything respiratory based this book is good for the theory and the practice and i would definitely recommend it!
