Well written and clear5
I have just started a BSc in Biomedicine and was having difficulty getting to grips with biochemistry. Many books on biochemistry are written very poorly and/or assume that you have a good basic knowledge. This book was a pleasure to read. I am actually learning the subject. The English is very clear and the sentences are well written. The diagrams are also helpful without providing overwhelming information. The book claims to be for A-level students, but as a mature student I don't know what A-levels are like today. For me, doing a degree, it has proved ideal.

agree entirely with previous reviewer!1
as a teacher of biology i am looking to buy books to use on our edexcel course. i will...under no circumstances...buy these nelson books! they are far too detailed and the authors are under the impression that writing 500 confusing words is far better than explaining something in a few words with diagrams! avoid...they will only help in confusing you and making topics far harder than they actually are!

waste of money1
all the individual nelson books are bad. im at uni now and some of the topics we're actually studying now. there's too much info and its too complicated to learn, do not buy nelson books if you want to pass your alevels, use the collin books instead. however i say all this but the revision guides from nelson are the best you can get. learn the answers at the back cos they will come up.great for last minute revision.
