Editorial Reviews

Review
"This book should be a welcome pedagogical guideline for any teacher who wants to become an effective facilitator rather than merely an instructor. Seasoned teachers will discover why they are such good group facilitators. For skeptics on group learning, there is a strong chance that they will be converted, if they read and try out many of these tips. Last, but not least, those struggling, yet enduring, teachers will find practical tips to improve and enrich themselves as they become better teachers." -- Teaching Theology & Religion

Practical, user-friendly and accessible advice!4
This book is aimed at those who work in post-compulsory education or training. It focuses less on the tutor led style of teaching, and more upon group learning, encouraging individuals to learn from each other. It gives loads of useful hints and advice on learning exercises, advantages and disadvantages, and 'trouble-shooting' sections - if things aren't going well with the groups, what the problems might be and different ways to address it. The author has obviously had plenty of experience and it shows in the comments that he makes about what to expect, and how to deal with it. This is a really practical guide, very user-friendly and I found it a valuable source of ideas for session planning.
