Product Description

A self-improvement guide for trainers, showing how to develop personal skills to increase the impact and effectiveness of training. It demonstrates how trainers must adapt the way they deliver training sessions, workshops, courses and programmes. This is not just a guide to better presentation skills or a book solely focusing on training tips and tricks of the trade, but seeks to help trainers to upgrade their current thinking, habits and methods. There is advice to inspire staff developers with new ways of thinking and doing things, along with checklists of both good techniques to develop and bad habits to avoid. The book shows how to replace traditional training methods with more interesting and effective techniques.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author
Happy to be contacted directly about all issues covered.
I have written this book with the benefit of both the trainer and delegate in mind. I want trainers to consistently improve and delegates to always enjoy their new learning. When the trainer gets the best from his or her craft then the delegate receives a higher standard and enjoyment of learning new skills. The delegates company also sees an improvement. In essence everybody wins. As you will discover in the book I am happy to be contacted directly concerning any training and development issue raised.

Customer Reviews

Training from the delegates viewpoint, how refreshing!5
As some one who has recently completed a training the trainer course this is both timely and essential reading. Imparting knowledge and experience in a well prepared, interesting and stimulating way must be mutually benefitial to both delegate and trainer alike. The use of checklists, developement plans and feedback will promote continuous self improvement. Probably the single biggest problem for the reader of this book could be great ideas and enthusiasm overload. Excellent reading full of good sense and practical advice, difficult to put down.

Highly Recommended5
Having just started out in the profession of training I bought a number of books to help me learn and improve. This book was by far the best. It was easy to read and kept me interested the whole time. It is just crammed with great 'how to' techniques and tricks of the trade. The self-discovery questionnaires and self-development exercises were excellent. Even my colleagues who have been in training for many years have read it and say how much it helped them. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who really wants to excel at being a great trainer.
