in his new book, city expert alex davidson reveals the secrets of making money as a stock market speculator. packed with trading methods that will work in up and down markets alike, this unique guide equips the reader to trade like a professional. showing readers which financial instruments to use, and how to limit losses and maximise gains, it focuses firmly on proven strategies for making money.
stressing the point that money management is the key to success, davidson casts a professional eye over the choices traders must make: whether to go for cfds, spread-betting, covered warrants, options or just straightforward share trading. he reveals how to profit from simple technical analysis, and how to read between the lines in company accounts. there’s even advice on how to get in early and make money through take-over speculation.
this valuable book will help anyone to implement their own trading system based on sound principles of money management, including preserving and protecting their own capital.

Customer Reviews
Impressive
This is an impressive book - covers a massive amount of ground.
but its not about investing - this is about speculation (i.e. how to lose lots of money in a few days)
chapters 1-6 are a good intro to investing - some very good insights.
7 to 11 is an objective look at technical analysis, which is total psuedo-science. read these chapters for insight into city games, but i suggest you put your faith in real investing rather then hoping for share price fluctuations.
the rest of the book is about other ways of investing - some very high risk methods. again useful for info.
the book is an excellent insight into how speculators work and the wacky, random, and largely futile world of speculators.
Glen arnold's book "investing" published by FT is probably the only book most private investors need.
i've given 4 stars because the book covers the subject in a thorough, honest and witty way.
