Amazon.co.uk Review
The subtitle to Cassandra Eason's book puts right the inaccuracy of the title; it doesn't cover the sort of hermetic ritual magic taught by Golden Dawn-type groups. It focuses instead on "How to Use Natural Energies to Heal Your Life"--in other words, Neo-Pagan and Wiccan- type magic. Half way through the book she gives a very brief but useful introduction to Wicca.
This is a well-written, down-to-earth and often humorous guide to the sort of magic which anyone can practice at home for health, gardening, money and love. There is a particularly good section on protecting yourself against attack from negative forces from, for example, a past lover or a disgruntled colleague.
In line with the theme of natural energies, Eason discusses how to draw on the power and wisdom of the guardians of stone circles, ley lines and sacred waters. The last part of the book examines the magic of the natural world: weather magic, seasonal magic and the magic of the four traditional elements of earth, air, fire and water.
Both for newcomers to natural magic, and for those with more experience, this will be a useful and practical guide. For those for whom the world "magic" might cause a disquieting feeling, this book should dispel many misapprehensions. --David V Barrett
Customer Reviews
This book is so informative
As a beginner to natural magic, this book is full of wonderfull information and rituals. Finally I know exactly what to put on my altar and why. There is one particular ritual I would love to try but as it involves paddling into the sea at night I'm afraid I'll have to give it a miss due to the waters here being FULL of jellyfish. A truly inspiring book.
A must have guide
Cassandra Eason is one of the best, most respected writers in the field of magic and psychic development and this book is one of the best reference books available. It's packed full of correspondence tables detailing the properties of herbs, incense, colours, trees, crystals and more. I'm constantly referring to it.
There are also spells for attracting positive energies and protection against negative ones. It's a fantastic guide to incorporating magic into every day living and tuning in to the rhythms of the Earth. There's also a handy section at the back full of further reading and contact addresses for suppliers and pagans worldwide.
I don't think I could live without this book!
Great for the magick seeker!
This is a really good book. Its ideal for someone who wants to practice magick and not witchcraft, although it tells a little bit about Wiccan practises.'Wiccan World' and found that this book really helps with the magical aspect. :)
