Customer Reviews
don't get your hopes too high
When I read this I was really excited. Have had depression for many years I thought the convincing explanations of the roles of certain nutrients was the answer I had been waiting for. I was so inspired by the book that I was about to start following some of the advice myself, but no, I decided to go one better and visited one of Holford's trained nutritionists. NEVER AGAIN!! I was stung for £1,000 and came away no better whatsoever. Maybe some people have been helped, but I wasn't one of them. Not only that but the numerous supplements as well as being expensive, seemed incredibly complicated to take. If i tried the nutritional approach again, I would look to a different expert and be wary of the moneymaking machines that can be out there.
Fantastic book
This is the kind of book you will want everyone to read. Its fascinating, well-written and answers a lot of questions. The advice also works. I tried adding certain foods to my diet, for example and noticed an improvement within a week. It can get technical in places, but you can read each chapter on its own. Very highly recommended
Easy Reading
Initially this is a facinating book and it is very easy to read and understand.
It may be easy to become depressed yourself if you're not careful and some parts make you feel that the whole thing is nothing but a sales ploy for supplements. It does say what foods are best but will often say that is not enough. He may be right! I have been taking certain supplements for 2 months as advised by a nutritional expert but have no improvement in mind or body.
A very very interesting read - well laid out - informative. I would recommend to anyone with an open mind.
