Customer Reviews

Easy and enjoyable reading for all fans of the Archers3
This book, by Joanna Toye, one of the script writers for the Radio Soap Opera the Archers, tells the story of Shula's growing up, chronicling failed romances, then telling how she finds happiness in Mark Hebden, and then loses him after he is killed in a car crash, leaving her pregnant with the child that they had been trying for for years. If you're into The Archers, it's worth reading, especially if the events of this book were before your time. It doesn't really have the impact of listening on the radio, however, and though, like the scripts for the radio version, it's quite well written, it's not much more than that. At times it can be more sentimental than the original, too.

In short, worth reading if you're a fna of The Archers and want to find out some of the recent history of Ambridge, or if you don't have anything better to read. Otherwise I wouldn't bother.
