Average customer review:Product Description
Patients do not go to the doctor with specific diseases; they come with a range of symptoms from which the doctor attempts to make a diagnosis. Symptoms and signs of diseases may lead the doctor to more than one initial diagnosis. It is then that experience and familiarity play their part, leading to the correct final diagnosis and subsequent appropriate treatment. By listing and describing symptoms and appending various possible diagnoses of cause, this book retains its original aim: to help in the differential diagnosis of any condition, in medicine, surgery or any specialty, that may be seen in general or hospital practice. Completely updated and revised, and under new editorship, this book is written for hospital doctors and general practitioners.

Customer Reviews
not that great
I had hoped to find a very detailed reference book, having perused an edition from the 1970's. This will be great if you are a medical student but isn't a postgraduate text, and doesn't have some of the things you will find in the simple old oxford handbook.
