Useful addition for practitioners on
I found this book essential during my emergency nurse practitioner course, it is well laid out and covers both major and minor injuries. It goes through basic anatomy, fractures, dislocations and soft tissue injuries in a logical manner and is aimed at both nurses and doctors working in emergency care.
Ruddy fantastic
This a great book. I've just finished my first job as an orthopaedic house officer at a central london teaching hospital. I started the job, with hardly any orthopaedic experience, having to take referals from A+E and being called to review medical inpatients.
This is probably the best introduction to emergency orthopaedics around. Really practical and concise. Essential reading for those starting out, it gave me a lot more confidence in managing orthopaedic problems.
The only hassle is the price.
