This classic text has become one of the foundational texts for all modern manual therapists. The fourth edition has been extensively revised by two authors who have worked closely with Geoff Maitland and have added invaluable and up-to-date input in the revision of this new edition. The accompanying CD-ROM contains videos of all relevant examination and treatment techniques. All line drawings have been replaced with high quality photographs which, together with the CD-ROM and the book's new layout, afford a more in-depth and user-friendly experience for readers.

Maitland's manips
This is a great book. It really is very clear and describes each manipulation / mobilisation nicely. However, if you are a physio student I'd advise you give this a miss for now. It is too advanced for even the most academic student. It is more for orthopaedic / MSK physios / medics who are sure that Maitland is the way to go. I'm basing this on the fact that it is an expensive book.
Take that away and you have a great book that explains the concept clearly and will allow you to make an informed and clinically reasoned decision on the treatment of your patient. The Editors have worked wonders to make this as accessible and understandable book. I had it as a gift and I love it but I would not pay £50 for it until I was qualified and working in the area.
If you are a qualified physio or medic interested in Mailtland manipulation then this will be the book for you. Also includes a CD ROM ('tis the quality of this that looses a mark) that shows the technique (albeit from a distance).
