Mike Morgan presents 25 stories about the larger-than-life exploits of the SAS and SBS in World War II - an SAS Jeep patrol in France outnumbered fifty-to-one by SS troopers, who shot their way out to safety in their bullet-riddled vehicle, killing a quarter of their opposition; an SAS soldier who talked his way through enemy roadblocks in North Africa, in full British uniform, and tore a strip off the guard for neglecting to check his papers; and another, who walked the whole length of Italy to escape after his raid went wrong. Supported by a selection of rare archive and action shots, this comprehensive collection includes some previously unpublished stories.

Customer Reviews
A most enjoyable read
Mike Morgans Daggers Drawn is a very comprehensive collection of true stories from both officers and men of the SAS and SBS, He has also included previously unplublished photographs which help to bring the stories to life. Daggers Drawn is a fantastic and interesting read.
Excellent book on SAS other ranks wartime exploits
This book is an excellent read for those interested in the real life stories of 2nd world war SAS and SBS soldiers. The author must have gone to great lengths to interview surviving members of the wartime SAS. Some of the exploits are hair raising and yet these guys lived to tell their tale. A real surprise waiting for anyone who asks these old soldiers what they did in the war! I was particularly impressed because a lot of the stories relate to other ranks, not officers, and their stories are seldom told. I wish Mike Morgan well and hope many others buy the book to read of the exploits of those such as Sgt George Daniels MM who was dropped hundreds of miles behind enemy lines in Italy and after completing his mission walked back to the allied lines over a period of 75 days!
Fast moving, well written, informative and exciting book.
Author Mike Morgan has captured the compelling excitment and courage of these special men of the SAS and SBS in their early exploits.
