One might think a former Penthouse Forum magazine editor would be in over her head when it came to interpreting the sacred Kama Sutra for contemporary lovers. Surprisingly, Anne Hooper has grasped the subtle, but perhaps more important, messages of India's traditional love manuals. She discourages readers from focusing on straining to achieve the more distorted poses as if they were athletic feats. Instead, she has written a compelling commentary that encourages readers to emphasize pressure points, manners, artistic freedom and, most of all, finding and pursuing a loving sexual relationship rather than an overly choreographed one. Useful addition to your collection
The pocket size of this book was the first thing that appealed to me. It has clear tasteful photographs for the positions. It's a good refresher course for the adventurous and encouragement for everyone else. It's great just to open it and try whatever you see! There are a couple of really effective positions where intimacy and heightened pleasure can be maintained for the woman. I found most of them realistic. And the traditional emphasis on the sensual: massage, touch, kissing are good reminders...

My partner and I found this book ok, but a little too basic; ie. it didnt tell us anything we didnt already know. If anything in this book was news to you then you're probably a virgin. The photos are tasteful, and this book may well be a must for beginners, but a little bland for the rest of us.
