Perfect Book Perfect Read
If you're one of those gardeners who wish they knew what plant to buy to fill that specific spot, or have a certain soil type but are unsure what plants will suit it, then this is THE book to have.
It's not a "how to garden", more of a "what to garden" encyclopaedia, with plants divided into groups according to location, habit, appearance, basically every different growing condition you may come across. Simply look up the criteria you wish and find the plants that thrive in it. It's straight forward and exceptionally easy to follow.
My copy is already well-thumbed!
Perfect plant book
I love this book!! As a novice and newly enthusiastic gardener with very little knowledge I find this book endlessly fascinating - it has a wealth of information, beautiful photos and answers so many questions. It is very clearly set out and organised and covers everything from flowers to trees to houseplants. I can easily while away a couple of hours just browsing through it. If you only ever buy one gardening book, make it this one!
