Editorial Reviews

Review
The ideal gift for antique lovers and collectors, there is something here for everyone who collects, admires or covets beautiful things. Now in full colour, this 2003 antique price guide brings to life a world of beauty: porcelains, silver, wood and textiles are but a few. Acclaimed authority Judith Miller guides the reader through over 8,500 antiques, imparting descriptions, tips and estimated prices for each. Whether you want to guestimate the value of your Victorian dinner service or ensure you're not being ripped off for that Regency sideboard, this guide will give you a good idea of an item's worth. Covering every collectible possible it also includes a section on "modern classics" - Arne Jacobsen and Poole pottery - and "new antiques" - jewellery, textiles and even handbags. A must for all collectors and an invaluable reference source. - Lucy Watson

Customer Reviews

The best antique guide for amateurs!5
This is an amazingly useful and interesting book for amateur antique collectors. It's full of pictures of antiques and fascinating asides about porcelain, furniture, japanese sword hilts, etc., all laid out in full colour.
The core information is about prices, of course - everyone wants to know what their item is worth!
It's a great book to browse through, and I've already bought another copy to give as a present.
All-in-all, highly reccomended!

Antique price guide 20044
This book offers lots of good pictures , Making finding antiques a lot easier, Unfortunatley the picture all seem to be those objects in excellent condition. It features alot more down to earth things that you could find at bootfairs & charity shops. I still think some of the value prices are way over the top. And items would only fetch this kind of money if in excellent condition. The down side of this book is it is far to big to carry out & about. But it does give a good idea of what to buy & what not to buy
