Customer Reviews
Excellent for a first time mother
Sheila expains everything in a way other authors can't manage. I've learnt a lot about my body and my baby's body by reading this book and learn more every time I pick it up!
A revalation
A well written book, covering all aspects of pregnancy and birth, educational and the best of the numerous books i have read in the space of 2 pregnancys. From understanding your medical record to making educated choices about your birthing preferances, this book takes you away from being a passive patient to being an informed mother. explaining different types of labour, how to relieve it, and even has a chapter for expectant dads. This is my childbirth bible, if you only buy one book make it this one.
Great for reference
There were so many pregnancy/childbirth books to chose from that I found it hard to decide on a title. I opted for "The new pregnancy and childbirth" by S.Kitzinger and found it to be brilliant. A lot of the information is the same as some of the leaflets that your midwife will give you anyway or the same as what can be found on the internet but it makes a great reference book with all topics covered.
