Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
Given unrestricted access to the famed Lucasfilm archives at Skywalker Ranch in California, author David West Reynolds has produced a unique and fascinating reference guide which reveals the creatures and characters of the Star Wars universe as they have never been seen before. High-quality annotated photographs, supported by stills from the film, explain every important feature of the characters, costumes, droids and equipment found in the Star Wars trilogy to make this the most detailed look at the films so far.

With key objects from the films having been re-photographed and, in some cases, re-created by expert consultants from the companies who produce them for the films, this is an authoritative and definitive guide to one of the most famous film series of all time.

An essential guide for all fans5
The perfect companion for both young and old fans alike. Packed with hundreds of full colour pictures and researched thoroughly by the author, there are plenty of items included that I did not know and I have been a Star Wars fan for over 20 years! Bang up-to-date, this book also contains items that were exclusive to the recently released Special Editions of the original trilogy. A must for any true fans' bookcase.

A very good guide4
This is a very interesting guide. It has packs of information on all the main characters such as Luke, Yoda, Obi Wan, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Leia, Darth Vader and the Emperor. It explains the history of all of them that either was not mentioned or you were likely to have missed. Other characters include Jabba, C3PO, R2D2 and Boba Fett, all with bonus information. It has basically a full guide on Jabba's Palace, the Storm Troopers and Mos Eisley. It includes even the most minor characters and creatures, with at least a brief comment, or even an entire paragraph. Did you think there'd be a lot of information on the Rebo Band, Darth Vader's bounty hunters or the canteen. It even includes characters seen extremely briefly or never seen at all(unless they are in the background). It has fascinating facts about all the different creatures, and the Jawas and the Sand People even get full pages! It has information on practically every single thing seen in Star Wars!

The perfect movie companion5
The range of Star Wars "Visual Dictionaries" continues here with the companion to the entire Classic Trilogy- superb details on everything from Luke Skywalker to the most throwaway line in the film are found here. The book is filled with an abundance of rich and extraordinarily detailed photos of characters and props and still from the movies, and allows you to look at the finer details in the film, which can be hard to pick up whilst watching it. The book helps to contextualise the events of the films and answers those niggling questions about the finer points of the movies. Brilliant.
