Diary of death: a satisfying read
I really enjoyed this book. You can dip into it, or read it straight through. The business of murder has completely changed over the years, and this book details crimes from 1900 right through to Fred and Rosemary West. Every day of the year is associated with some other notorious murderer and you can only feel pity for the victims and horror at the violence of the crimes. A great book for anyone interested in serial killers, or the progression of criminology through the 20th century. Each entry or 'day' is like a short, satisfying story. You get lots of detail about the murderer, the background to the crime, and the eventual fate of the murderer: whether justice prevails, they escape to live a long happy life, or fate gets them in the end! All in all an enjoyable and satisfying read.
