This Damages the CIM Brand1
As I'm currently studying the CIM Diploma, I thought it a good idea to buy this textbook.

The quality of the publication is shoddy to say the least. It has been very badly typeset, with text jumping from justified and various alignments every other line, which doesn't make this the easiest book to read. But perhaps something that is even worse, and somewhat unforgivable in a textbook that's meant to help the readers learn, is how half the text is missing in the very handy chapter summaries, key points finish mid sentence.

The book is littered with spelling errors with one particularly confusing point where "opinion leaders" becomes "opinion leasers" - perhaps I've miss understood this and the CIM are advocating the use of parties who rent their opinions.

The paper and print quality of all the CIM Diploma study texts are pretty bad with some tables being completely unreadable.

Despite these criticisms the book is fairly easy to follow (where legible) the content is correct and various different features and examples do aid learning - but I do feel that the very high costs involved in undertaking the CIM diploma and the lack of any real alternative to this text (without buying loads of different books) that CIM students are being let down.

If like me you're doing the course and cannot afford to buy 5 or 6 books for each module, then you'll probably settle for this book, but be warned it is not a great book, but perhaps one day when you run the CIM you could sort it out.
