Product Description

Whether you have been listening for fifty years or fifteen minutes, this subversive guide will show you a totally new side to life in Ambridge. This year, Radio 4 are celebrating the fiftieth year of The Archers, their longest running soap. Publicity for this anniversary has been widespread in the press and many events have been organised to mark this occasion. At the end of February Prince Charles is hosting a party at Broadcasting House to celebrate. The Archers Anarchists' believe that 'The Archers are real. There is no cast' and subsequently this anniversary holds little sway with them. This fully updated reissue of The Archers Anarchists' A-Z and Archers Anarchists' Survival Guide is an alternative way to mark the anniversary as it celebrates everything which is odd, sinister and downright unlikely about village life in Ambridge. This hilarious guide to the Archers will entertain and enlighten all Archers fans.

Customer Reviews

simply the best5
One of the very few laugh-out-loud books I have read this year. Absolutely hilarious. Ian Sanderson has a dry wit and an infallible instinct for le mot juste when it comes to the weird denizens of Ambridge who inhabit a parallel universe where there are no postmen, soap operas or terrorists. Village productions which outdo Cameron Mackintosh and Harvest Suppers to shame Delia Smith are where it's at. Oh, and check out that church choir. King's College Choir should look to their laurels. But not The Laurels, naturally, if they want to live.

The Non Castist Truth and Nothing but the Non Castist Truth5
Warning do not read this book in public if you do not want people to stare when you laugh out loud. They will when you do. It is hilarious taking the non castist and of course correct view of the the longest running docu - soap in the World. Ambridge contains more murderers than a mximum security jail. You will be shocked as you fall off your seat laughing. You will weep when you read of the death of Sammy the cat. No loo should be without it!

Essential For The Proper Enjoyment Of 7:02PM5
This is no mere reissue of the past two Archers Anarchists manifestoes; while it leaves the Survival Guide largely as it was, this book involves a wholesale updating/rewriting of the glorious A-Z and left me in stitches once again. This book is essential for all those who have lived through the recent plagues of Glucose, Hey Nonny No, Freebie, et al, and the saga of Grunge Farm. And I don't see how all those currently battling with the complexities of Wiwyerm's car, Edweird's gall & Emmer's leg could possibly do without it...
