From the Back Cover
Compiling Morris Minor Light Commercials has been a labour of love for Russell Harvey (historian of the Minor LCV Register since 1992). Although born in 1959, only six years after the first LCV was assembled, childhood memories of the Minor LCV are extremely vague, although the local SWEB (South Wales Electricity Board) vans in their vivid turquoise liveries are fondly remembered.
A brief history of the production and varied uses of Minor LCVs is told here in both words and pictures. The Minor LCV had a production life of only eighteen years but it was a ubiquitous sight in almost every street in Britain until the late 1970s. Minor LCVs were exported the world over and this is reflected in the images inside. They were also constructed from kits of parts in Australia.
The images are mostly previously unpublished and some are of unique conversions that have almost been forgotten. Included are views of 'Gown' vans, the high-top vans specially converted for Curry's, post office and police vans as well as one-off specials.
The author owns a 1969 Persian Blue, ex-wholesale tobacconist van from Newport, Gwent. It is a one-owner vehicle and spent its entire working life on the streets of Newport. It is currently under restoration.

An abundance of valuable photographic minor information
At last a book dedicated to this once widespread vehicle. Wonderful pictures and accompanying text show the minor commercials in familiar scenes and liveries from the local grocer to the noted high street big names. There are also images of the rare coachbuilt variations and export versions with differing rear bodywork. If you like Minors or commercial vehicles you will certainly not be disapointed.
