Unputdownable5
Who would think you could say that about an archaeology book. I got it for the info on the Thornborough henges, which are little known but fascinating, but the author's enthusiasm for his subject is highly infectious. Highly recommended for any archaeology buff or anyone interested in our past.

Excellent Investigation into the Megaliths of Britain5

I really enjoyed this book. Its give some fascinating insights into the Henge monuments and insights into the thoughts of the builders. It contains some facinating information regarding burials and ancient sites. The author gives a good overview of the various theories concerning 'what the sites' were all about whilst giving good air time to the theores of 'esoteric fringe' authors (from the point of view of academic archaeologists such as the author) such as Michael Dames and Terence Meaden. I was impressed that she did not dismiss these theories out of hand as do so many modern archaeologists.

Personally, it was refreshing to read an account of the ancient sites, which has not been whitewashed with some modern neopagan dogma - lets look at the facts people - you will find some of them here. Thankfully the book didnt mention the 'D' word which was a relief.

High recommended.
