Product Description

The world was told that the last Tsar of Russia and his family were butchered in the 'cellar massacre' at Ekaterinburg in 1918. Yet diplomats and reporters did not believe it. And the longest court case of the century failed to explode Anna Anderson's claim to be the Tsar's youngest daughter, Grand Duchess Anastasia. Anthony Summers and Tom Mangold spent five years tracking down witnesses and long-lost documents. The search led to Moscow, Tokyo and Washington and their persistence finally paid off when they found a suppressed official dossier - the File on the Tsar. It shows that the public was fed a lie. The Romanovs did not all die at Ekaterinburg, but became pawns in an international power game, involving Lenin, the Kaiser, the British Royal Family and British Intelligence. And in London, over 80 years later, the cover-up goes on.

Why the hell do we developed DNA tests?5
as it totally destroyed the legend surrounded possible survival of members of the Imperial Family. Ever since the DNA results were published the stories on the survival of one or two members of the Imperial Family have become more and more bizarre.

I had read years ago "The File on the Tsar" and a few days ago I started to re-read it. In the meantime a lot has happened and I of course have read the "Final Chapter" by the same authors.

At the time of my first reading I was completely absord by this book and to my great astonishment it happened again. It is so well written, hooks the reader to the story from page one. It is mere pleasure reading it. At the time I was convinced that members of the Family survided.

So in spite of all the developments since the first publication of this book.

I can only recommened reading it. Enjoy it!

The book maybe exciting, is that what the serious person wants ? I very much doubt it, since we do know almost certainly that this family was brutally and tragically murdered by the Bolshevics, proven by DNA , also would one hope to doubt this, then consider all the other murdered Romanovs, the Bolshevics showed no mercy to any one Romanov, furthermore one has the English tutor to the last czar's children, Gibbs, absolutely rejecting Anna Anderson as an imposter, also further DNA has proven her not to be Anastasia, no this book is not up to date, it therefore should not gain a very high rating, since, with the passing of time much more has become known in this matter
