Editorial Reviews
Synopsis
Since Eric died in 1984, his son Gary has found that many of those who knew him, or worked with him, have a little story - a telling moment - that they like to share. Here he gathers together many of those anecdotes to provide a moving portrait and touching tribute to the man who couldn't help being funny.
From the Author
Glad Memories of Eric seemingly so popular.
Memories of Eric was a real thrill to work on as it gave me the chance to put something into print on Eric from the perception of others and not just myself.
Customer Reviews
A must buy for any Morecambe and Wise Fans
This book is an absolute must for M&W fans. Consisting of Eric's family, friends, and other celebrity memories, it is a treasure trove of wonderfully warm, mostly witty anecdotes about England's Comedy King.
This book will alternatively make you happy and sad. Happy that you have watched and enjoyed the shows he could not have done without the best straight man ever, Ernie Wise, and sad because you know that he has gone from our lives forever.
Read, enjoy and treasure this book - it is sure to bring Sunshine into your lives, and just be thankful for video-tapes and repeats on the various television channels.
This one's a keeper
Having also read "Behind the Sunshine" and the Graham McCann biography, I'd say that "Memories of Eric", while it's not intended to supplant more straight-forward bios, offers the best insight into what Eric Morecambe was really like. The photos are wonderful, too.
The most enjoyable book I've ever worked on
So glad it's been popular with the true M&W fans -they know if they like something or not and aren't afraid to make their thoughts known to me!There have been so many books on the boys, and I like to think this one is right up there with the best of the pick. Martin was a great help in putting the thing together.
