Everything you need to know about castles!
This book covers the development of castles, knights and heraldry, life in a Norman castle and attacking and defending castles. The illustrations in the book are fantastic giving you a real idea of how things looked.
My favourite chapter was 'The Joust' because the information was exciting as well as interesting and the illustrations were brilliant.
This book was the key to producing my Key Stage 2 project on castles - I couldn't have managed without it!
The Best - Ever Book of Castles
I love this book because it is crammed full of historic information but set out in such a way as to appeal to all children aged 5+. The superb pictures, which so brilliantly illustrate not just the castles but also how the dwellers lived, add so much more to the learning process.
