Editorial Reviews

Film Review
'This is the ultimate Spielberg guide, simply crammed with opinion, trivia and analysis, all of it enthusiastically relayed by the author'

Empire
'No previous tome has come close in terms of both width and depth... a perfect blend of attention to detail and accessibility ... simply indispensable stuff'

From the Publisher
As well as being the reviews editor of Empire movie magazine, Ian Freer is a lifelong Spielberg fan and, as such, was the perfect author for this volume in Virgin Books' critically acclaimed 'The Complete' series, which also includes books on Hitchcock, Kubrick and Lynch. Covering all of Steven Spielberg's films, including his early amateur ones, his TV work, his work as both producer and actor, and his unrealised projects, this is the book on Spielberg for any fan to have on their shelf.

Customer Reviews

a must own for all fans of spielburg!5
Ian Freer has created an amazingly insightful look at the 21st centurys most important director. Covering all of his films and tv projects, no stone is left unturned. Each film is broken down and covers backstory, production, casting and behind the scenes information. Truely an indispensible guide to Stephen Spielburg that no film fan should be without.

An absorbing and excellent summary of Spielberg's career.4
Whether a Spielberg buff, ot merely a fan of his many films, 'The Complete Spielberg' is sure to please any one who turns the first page. Inside is not only an extremely interesting blow by blow account of Spielberg's rise to the top, but also all of his work covered in every little detail.

From his uncredited production work (did you know that Spielberg was an un-credited producer of 'Chicken Run' and 'What Lies Beneath' amongst others?), to his television work and ultimately his feature films, this book details the birth of Spielber'g work, the production of some of the world's greatest movies, and how each film was finally received.

Full of trivia and more information than you would care for, this book is ideal for those who know Spielberg inside out, but also for this who are new to his work.

If you want to learn more about the golden boy of Hollywood, and the man who made some of the world's best celluloid treats, then you can't go wrong with Freer's guide. It is an easy, enjoyable read that you will return to time and time again. I guarantee that.

Very good, but ...4
... the movie only gives an account of his work up to Saving Private Ryan (1998). Meaning there's nothing about Minority Report, A.I., Catch Me If You Can, The Terminal, War of the Worlds or Munich (the version I was sent anyway - I don't know if there's a newerversion). Excellent and through book however, though.
