Customer Reviews
An excellent selection of her poetry
Christina Rossetti's poetry is full of deceptively childlike rhymes but underlying this apparent simplicity are complex themes which evade the reader's grasp. Just when you think you have her poems figured out they slip away from you like the proverbial snake. Not to be missed in this collection is her poem Goblin Market, in Victorian times this was viewed as a children's poem - astounding to a modern audience considering its (now blatant) erotic imagery.
