The book is an absolute gem
READER IN DENVER.
""I have found the book to be an absolute little gem. The transformation of memory into a state of reverie. Seamus Heaney, the 1995 Nobel Laureate once said, "Do not waver into language. Do not waver in it."
What I find most assuredly in this book is the sure-footedness and the sense of adventure and the marvellous, marvellous feeling of discovery. Sometimes when a local American travel writer writes about India, there is a faint sense of uneasiness that this is a simulacrum of the 'real thing'. Everything is there; yet something is missing. It is that "something", (shall we call it 'soul'?) which imbues this book with its exuberance and wonder.
An Indian writing and exulting about India as if he can never have his fill of India. Yet you go on to Mongolia and Jakarta and Manila and those places are wonderful too. You meet people other than Indian, and they too are so wonderful. It is like that old song, "It is a wonderful, wonderful world!" And this is the strength of the book. It is so void of egoism and self -importance. It is such a celebration of the people you have met, whether it is Saidhu at Kochi or Iskander in Indonesia or Johnny who has come to be larger than life because of who he is. Along with the grandeur at Nglau Indah, the book glistens with the generous spirit of the author. When that generosity is the essence of the writing, even the desert blooms for The reader. I can go and on... The writing is so evocative that one would want to be at all these places and meet all these people. Chakko roared with laughter, reading 'Classified Joys'. ("Girl very young, blo thirty.")
Thank you for allowing all of us to come along on a wonderful journey with you. We are all eagerly awaiting the arrival of your next book. May you finish it equally well and in good time.

Brilliant and beautiful
I have read with great pleasure the book of Alex Abraham. He shows an extensive mastering of the English language in describing what he has experienced on his journeys all over the world.Especially the alliterations already layed down in his name are used delicately and to the point. His love for and observations of details, nature, people and ways of live makes the short stories very worthwhile to read.Next to the very rich prose his poems reflects again his vast reservoir of synonyms without being bombastic.

Alex Abraham has put into words the thoughts and experiences of anyone who loves to travel. His witty narrative of snapshots from around the world take you back on your travels and make you itch to get back out there.
