It examines the relationship between environmental degradation and poverty and uncontrolled population growth, and also highlights the roles of government and citizens in achieving sustainable development. The book aims to break new ground by relating environmental and ecological issues to sustainable development. This is a step forward in the efforts towards dealing with environmental problems in Nigeria. The text is the product of a national workshop in management of environmental problems in Nigeria, held at Enugu on the 4th June, 1997.
