Customer Reviews

i love the bennets and mcdonughs !5
i became a massive fan of joan jonkers this summer after i loaned down our street from my local library and started to read it on holiday , and i couldnt put it down! i fell in love with the bennet and mcdonhugh families and their friends and always get a smile when i read joan 's books with them in.
i now own all but two of joan jonker's books! and have loved them all and re-re read them ! i brought this book and was'nt dissapointed at all! i cant wait till the next installment of these families and their adventures! all joan fans or readers of romantic war time fiction will love this book! highly recommeneded!

A waste of money1
I was once a big fan on Joan's but since 'Three little words' i am starting to question my aligance. This book is a rip off, all the same boring jokes, story lines - IE - Nellie and Mollie having a 'hilarious' time joking and laughing over some custard cream biscuit crumbs spilt on the the floor and then repeating it again to their faimilies - i mean get real!!! - its just not funny 3rd or 4th time around. Come on Joan i sure you could think up better story lines than this. I have to say had on my heart i am sadly disapointed with this book, i love reading Joans books but i had to put it down a quater of the way though as i was sick of reading as i have said before the same old jokes etc etc. A waste of money!!!

Don't Bother 1
I was once a fan of Joan's but just lately her books have gone down bank. She uses all the same jokes that she has used in previous titles and it all becoming a little bit boring. I think it's time that Joan layed the Bennetts and McDonoughs to bed and concentrated on some other characters, like maybe writing a follow up to SADIE WAS A LADY, which was an astounding book. Please take note Joan, we love your work but its time for a change.
