Focus
You want to know how to drive them fast? This book tells you. Even with 20 years of karting experience I still found lots of good info in this book. Especially the "focus part" and "strategy for learning the track" helped me a lot.
Not much on the setup side though.
Have fun reading this book and using it the next time you're curling rubber.
A good deal of useful information
Having only recently started Karting I would say that this a great book to get you started. It only lightly covers the engineering and mechanical aspects which was fine by me at this stage. It does however cover many other subjects such as racing lines, cornering, position holding and advanced techniques such as leaning, trail breaking etc.
It won't take long to get through the book due to the amount of large photos but there is still a good deal of raw information. Recommended, but only if you are new to the scene.
A good supplementary book
On the plus side, there's a good deal of great content and advice in here, covering the key aspects of kart racing. It's also written in a very straightforward manner, and contains almost no technical content so beginners won't feel intimidated. This is, as the title says, a book focused solely on the driving aspects.
Less impressive, however, is the fact that not many images are used (and there's even fewer diagrams), and they're all in black and white.
It's also rather short (you don't get a tremendous amount of words per page), meaning some areas aren't covered in perhaps as great a detail as you might like/expect.
As such, I wouldn't recommend it as a primary book on karting - there are more comprehensive and better detailed/illustrated books available. But as an additional purchase (particularly at the price) to accompany one of those more substantial publications, it's certainly worth a read.
